Welcome to the Sedgwick Parish Council & Sedgwick Village Website
Sedgwick is a small, picturesque Cumbrian village situated close to the Lake District National Park, in the North-west of England.
This website has been created by Sedgwick Parish Council to provide an insight into our village and all the activities that take place in and around our Parish.
We also hope that it is a useful source of information for residents and visitors alike.
Handyperson Scheme
Westmorland and Furness Council operates a Handyperson Scheme offering eligible residents help with things like:
- Small repairs, such as unblocking sinks or replacing a washer on a tap
- Fitting of minor security measures such as door and window locks
- Changing a lightbulb
- Putting up shelving
- Hanging curtains
- Installing handrails
All work is carried out free of charge - you just provide the materials.
Streetsafe
is a police reporting system where residents can report incidents which make them feel unsafe - we have had previous questions from residents about how to report near misses when they have felt unsafe as pedestrians
This seems like a really good way of reporting them
If you need to call the Emergency Services to Sedgwick
Remember if you have to call the Emergency Services, to make sure they know which side of the aqueduct a vehicle is needed, because many modern appliances cannot pass under the aqueduct and the diversion is long.
Our nearest defibrillator is located at the Village Hall LA80JU
